How long do you believe you have had Lyme?

5-6 years.

How long did it take you to get a diagnosis?

It took 1 ½ years to get a diagnosis.

Did you see multiple doctors before you were diagnosed with Lyme? If so, what types? I saw doctors at multiple different offices (general doctors) but didn't get a diagnosis until I went to a functional medicine office.

Anything else you would like to share about trying to find a diagnosis? Many doctors believe a quick 21-day dose will make the Lyme go away, but that is not true.

How long have you been treating Lyme for?

It's been 4 ½ years!

Do you have any coinfections? If so, which ones?

As of now, we are unaware if there are any remaining co-infections.

What types of treatments have you tried?

We've tried antibiotics such as doxycycline, and amoxicillin, and many other medications.

List up to 5 of your biggest (past or current) symptoms:

Fatigue, joint/muscle pain, heart complications, memory loss, and twitching. What is the biggest way that Lyme has affected your life? It has severely worsened my joint pain and made it very difficult to walk. I used to love hiking to waterfalls, but can no longer do so.

What do you wish people knew about Lyme Disease? I wish more people knew how much it truly affects every aspect of daily life, and how much it can rob you of your freedom. Any advice for someone newly diagnosed with Lyme? If you do not find a doctor right away who will listen to you when you say you are still struggling after treatment, please do not give up! Always listen to YOUR gut. Fun fact time! What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? I absolutely love everything about art and spend most of my free time drawing or painting.
